Tug-of-War Competition
So as to enrich students' extracurricular life and enhance the spirit of team cooperation, Anqing Foreign Language School's Senior High Department held a tug-of-war competition in Grade 11. On the afternoon of 8th April, the preliminary contest was proceeded and each class selected ten boy students and eight girl students to form a team.Through the elimination series, the Senior High Department decided the winner, runner-up and second runner-up.
During the competition, the players fought hard and the atmosphere was tense both on and off the field. The rhythmic sound of cheering filled the blue sky of Anqing Foreign Language School, which echoed for a long time. Especially in the moment of victory and defeat, the contestants did not retreat. Instead, they held on straight to the end. For one thing, the players had high morale, which interpreted the meaning of unity with their sweat. Therefore, everyone was moved by their tenacious perseverance and fighting spirit. For another, the cheerleaders were enthusiastic, whose cheers added a bright color to the game, because each shout of joy brought power!
To sum up, the tug-of-war competition not only enriched students' extracurricular life, enhanced class cohesion, but also promoted communication among classes and enhanced friendship among students. It's hoped that the students will make concerted effort and continue to carry forward the optimistic and enterprising spirit into the usual learning and life.
